Donia Hamed, MD
Hometown: I’m Egyptian and grew up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Medical School: Helwan University School of Medicine
Residency Clinic Site: Central
Family Medicine Interests: Inpatient medicine, office procedures, women’s health, preventive care, global health, and medical education.
Hobbies/Interests: I love going on long walks, trying different cultural foods and coffee shops, watching movies, crocheting, going to the gym, and counting my protein intake. I’m always up for saying yes to new experiences, whether that’s a spontaneous ice cream trip, exploring a new place, picking up a hobby, or learning random facts.
Why Sparrow? I wanted to be in Michigan because of how culturally diverse it is. I was also drawn to the program because of its full-spectrum curriculum and the great balance between inpatient and outpatient medicine. After interviewing with the program, I could genuinely feel the supportive environment and the good vibes among the residents and faculty. Now that I’m part of the residency, I can confirm that feeling. People truly enjoy working together, and it’s a great place to grow both professionally and personally.
